- 세계화의 열풍 속에서 획일화 혹은 차별을 만들어내는 문화·정치적 상황 속에서 한류의 성공은 단지 한국산 콘텐츠의 경제적 성공에 그치는 것이 아니라 기존의 문화적 헤게모니에 균열을 만드는 의미를 가진다. 본 강좌는 다양한 한류 콘텐츠들을 그 텍스트적 의미의 맥락과 글로벌한 문화적 맥락 속에서 살펴봄으로써 한류라는 문화적 흐름이 어떻게 진행되어 가고 있는지 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 그리하여 본 강좌는 한류 확산에 큰 역할을 한 디지털 네트워크 미디어 환경의 역할 및 기존의 문화적 지형도에 대한 검토 및 한류에 대한 담론들 및 K-pop, K-drama, K-film 등의 개별적 콘텐츠들에 대한 검토에 이르기까지 한류의 역사, 이론, 사례를 다각적으로 검토함으로써 한류라는 것이 무엇인지에 대한 이해를 획득하는 것을 목표로 한다.
- In a rapidly globalizing world, where cultural and political dynamics can foster either uniformity or difference, the success of Hallyu (the Korean Wave) is not limited to the economic achievements of Korean content. Rather, it signifies a challenge to established centers of cultural hegemony. This course aims to examine the various texts of Hallyu and their meanings, both within their own contexts and in the broader framework of global cultural flows, in order to understand how Hallyu has developed as a cultural phenomenon. Accordingly, the course covers the role of digital networked media in the expansion of Hallyu, reconsiders the existing cultural landscape, and investigates key discourses about Hallyu, as well as individual content areas such as K-pop, K-drama, and K-film. Through an exploration of the history, theories, and case studies of Hallyu, the course seeks to foster a comprehensive understanding of what Hallyu truly is.
