◎ Course Overview(강의 개요)
∙ This lecture presents the comprehensive history of the healing talismans in the East Asian Buddhism, starting from its Indian origins. While keeping both the global and local perspectives, most of the discussions will be dedicated to unpacking its historical development in Korea with a wide range of talismans used in healing and other Buddhist magic.
∙ 이 강의는 동아시아 불교에서 영험과 치유의 역사에 대해 인도에서의 기원을 시작으로 포괄적으로 다룹니다. 글로벌한 관점과 지역적인 관점을 균형 있게 유지하면서, 특히 한국에서의 역사적 발전에 초점을 맞춰 치유와 기타 불교적 영험에 사용된 다양한 부적들을 분석하고자 합니다.
◎ Course Objectives(학습 목표)
∙ The students will gain a firm knowledge about what magic, healing, and talismans are in Buddhism, and they will be able to understand the centrality of talismans in the Buddhist tradition in Korea and beyond.
∙ 수강생들은 불교에서 영험, 치유, 부적이 무엇인지에 대한 확고한 지식을 얻게 되며, 한국을 포함한 불교 전통에서 부적이 가지는 중심적인 역할을 이해할 수 있게 될 것입니다.

∙ This course is designed for individuals interested in Korean Studies and Buddhist Studies, and no prior experience is required.
∙ 이 강좌는 한국학, 불교학에 대한 관심이 있는 분들을 위한 강좌로 선수요건 없이 모든 학습자가 수강할 수 있습니다.

∙ Assessment Method: Quiz 100%(Discussion and reflection are not included in the completion criteria)
∙ Completion Criteria: Total of more than 60 points
∙ 평가방법: 퀴즈 100%(토론 및 생각해보기는 평가점수에 반영되지 않습니다)
∙ 이수기준: 총점이 60점 이상이고 설문조사를 완료하면 이수증 발급
