K-MOOC Homepage Personal Information Processing Policy (Plan)

The K-MOOC homepage (, hereinafter referred to as the 'homepage') is a system run by the National Institute for Lifelong Education (hereinafter referred to as 'NILE'), a member institution of the Ministry of Education. All the personal information are collected, possessed and processed based on related laws and regulations.The 'Personal Information Protection Act' provides general rules for the handling of such personal information, and on the homepage, personal information collected, possessed and processed in accordance with the provisions of this Act shall be used for proper execution of public works and protection of users' interests. We will treat it legally and properly.

Article 1 (Purpose of Personal Information Processing)

Article 2 (Retention Period of Personal Information Processing)

① The homepage processes and retains personal information within the period of holding and using personal information according to laws and regulations, or the period of holding and using personal information that is agreed upon when collecting personal information from information subject.

        • Audit and investigation business in progress under other laws
    • 2. Request of personal information correction and deletion
      The correction and deletion of personal information file of the homepage can be requested in accordance with Article 36 of "Personal Information Protection Act". However, in cases where the personal information is specified as the object of collection under other laws, it can not be requested to be deleted.
    • 3. Request to stop processing personal information
      According to Article 37 of "Personal Information Protection Act", the suspension of processing personal information file of The homepage can be demanded. However, when requesting suspension of personal information processing, the request for suspension of processing may be rejected pursuant to Article 37, Item 2 of the Act.

Article 8 (Destruction of Personal Information)

  1. ① If personal information becomes unnecessary, such as the elapse of the personal information retention period and achievement of the processing purpose, we will immediately destroy the personal information without any delay.
  2. ② If personal information has to be kept in accordance with other laws and regulations even though the period of holding personal information agreed with the information subject has elapsed or the purpose of processing has been accomplished, the personal information (or personal information file) may be stored in a separate database or we store it in a different storing place.

      • - NILE destroys personal information by establishing a destruction plan for personal information (or personal information files) that should be destroyed.
